Low Carb Bread Alternatives

As a bonus, we'll also be sharing a recipe for a 90-second mug bread! These alternatives offer a fantastic transition away from conventional bread.
Jimmy Cakes Recipe (Makes 4 cakes)
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat a pancake maker (such as the Kambrook pancake maker works well).
- Pour a 1/4 portion onto each hotplate.
- Cook for approximately 5 minutes. (Note: Avoid overfilling.)
- Voila! Simple and delicious!
90-Second 'Bread' Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons of almond meal/flour
- 1 teaspoon of psyllium husk
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
Directions:
- Melt butter in a microwave-safe mug or ramekin and let it cool slightly.
- Whisk the egg and add it to the slightly cooled melted butter.
- Combine almond meal, psyllium husk, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir the dry ingredients into the egg and melted butter mixture.
- Microwave for 90 seconds.
- If you prefer using an oven, bake at 175°C for 15 minutes in a suitable container.
- Toasting is also an option after the bread has been cooked! Using a square/rectangular microwave-safe container makes toasting easier.
These alternatives not only provide an easy solution and extra nutrition but also offer versatility. They can be customized with various herbs, a huge variety of toppings or used as a base for sandwiches, making them an ideal substitute for traditional bread.
